Iran Becomes Second Largest Pistachio Supplier to Spain
According to the latest report from the Chamber of Commerce by Keinia, Iran’s pistachio exports to Spain, one of the most important pistachio markets in Europe, have increased significantly. In 2022, Iran became the second largest supplier of pistachios to Spain, with exports of 2,068,530 kg of pistachios worth 23,096,680 euros.
Increase in Exports and Trade Balance
Compared to 2021, Iran’s pistachio exports to Spain have grown by 58.03%, which was worth over 8,450,250 euros. The Joint Chamber of Commerce of Iran and Spain has reviewed the status of pistachio trade with this country in a statistical report, which indicates that Spain’s trade balance in the pistachio sector in 2022 was negative by 100,879,180 euros. The report shows that Spain’s foreign trade volume in the pistachio sector was 161,603,200 euros, of which 30,362,110 euros were related to exports and 131,241,190 euros were related to imports.

Top Destinations for Pistachio Exports
According to the Joint Chamber of Commerce of Iran and Spain, the top five destinations for pistachio exports from Spain are Italy, France, Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium. Italy is the top destination with 7,560,860 euros of imports, followed by France with 6,802,550 euros.
