Iran’s pistachio export worth 95 million euros to Europe in 9 months
Eurostat announced that Iran exported 95 million euros of pistachios to the European Union in 9 months of 2022 and introduced Iran as the second exporter of pistachios to Europe in this period.
According to the Keinia blog, quoted by IRNA, the European Commission (Eurostat) news site announced that Iran exported 95 million euros of pistachios to the European Union in the first 9 months of 2022, which is a 39% decrease compared to the same period last year.
Iran had exported 154 million euros of pistachios to EU member countries during the months of January to September last year.
In the first 9 months of this year, 58 million euros of pistachio nuts were exported from Iran to Europe, and 37 million euros were related to pistachios in shell. Iran’s export of pistachio nuts to Europe has decreased by 6% and the export of shelled pistachios has decreased by 59%. Iran exported 62 million euros of pistachio nuts and 92 million euros of shelled pistachios to Europe in 9 months of last year.
Germany, Spain and Italy were the most important importers of Iranian pistachios in 9 months of 2022.
According to this report, after the United States, Iran was the second exporter of pistachios to Europe in the months of January to September 2022. During this period, Iran accounted for 10% of the total European pistachio imports. In the 9 months of this year, the European Union imported 930 million euros of pistachios, of which 650 million euros were related to pistachios in shell and 280 million euros were related to pistachio kernels. Iran has had 20% of the pistachio nut market in Europe during this period.
America has exported 529 million euros of pistachios to Europe in 9 months of this year. American pistachio exports have increased by 19% compared to the same period last year. During this period, America has exported 67 million euros of pistachio nuts and 462 million euros of pistachio skins to Europe.
